IE Day

Our annual  Internet Evangelism Day (IE Day) is set for Sunday 21 April this year, with the entire month of April designated as Digital Outreach Month.  During this event we seek to raise awareness of the amazing opportunities God is placing at out feet for reaching the world in this exciting digital era. This year will be a special focus on the potential for mobile technology.

Note: This site is much more than an IE Day resource.  It’s an encyclopaedic guide to digital missions and worth a permanent place in your bookmarks.

WHAT CAN I DO?

If you’re involved in a church, bible study group, bible college, outreach team we have heaps of resources  you can use.   So you’re not a computer wizz eh?   Don’t worry, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to serve in this mission field.

Here’s  what you can do during April  …

MOBILIZE YOUR CHURCH ON INTERNET EVANGELISM DAY

Churches around the world will be marking Internet Evangelism Day on Sunday 21st April.  Internet Evangelism Day’s web resources are a great way to help your church members learn more about exciting ways to share the good news online. It is easy to create a short focus spot in a church meeting, and even demonstrate these options in real time with projector and online computer.

We’ve got 14 digital ideas you can share with your church on IE Day.

You can …

  • Show free videos including testimonies from people who’ve come to Christ online
  • Show how to share your faith via Facebook using three evangelistic video libraries.
  • Show how to use new mobile apps to share your faith with friends (see below)
  • Run a drama – we have free drama scripts you can use.
  • Show how easy it is to answer emails from seekers all over the world (see below)

We also have free posters and images to help you promote your events.

BECOME AN ONLINE MENTOR

Every day over 7,000 people indicate that they have made a spiritual decision of some kind or have a spiritual question.  You can be there to help them!

Can you write an email?  Have you taught Sunday School or similar in a main stream Protestant church and have a regular walk with the Lord? Then you probably qualify to become an online spiritual mentor. If you speak Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish or Vietnamese then we’d be particularly interested in having you on board. Warning … This is life transforming stuff! It can ignite your spiritual journey … and your church!

Visit www.MissionaryFromHome.com today to learn more.

When you’re ready to sign up …

Read the home page, scroll to the bottom of the page and select your preferred language.  It will take you about 30 minutes to the complete the form and you’ll need  your church pastor/minister to agree to be a reference for you (you’ll need their contact details).  If your language is not there, you can visit www.GMOJoinUs.com

USE EVANGELISTIC IPHONE APPS TO SHARE YOUR FAITH

The new Talking About Jesus iPhone app has been released by UK ministry Damaris. Most Christian smartphone apps offer discipleship help for Christians. But Talking About Jesus is directly evangelistic and offers 18 short videos by insightful speakers such as Philip Yancey, Anna Robbins, Andrew White, Krish Kandiah, Nick Pollard and Gary Habermas.

The free Knowing God Personally and Satisfied iPhone apps have been developed by Campus Crusade for Christ Australia so you can always be ready to share your faith or even begin discipling fellow Christians who are struggling in their faith.

Android versions on the way !

TURN YOUR SMALL GROUP INTO A WORLD WIDE EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH TEAM

Did you know your church or small group can run it’s own online outreach event!

Imagine  …

  • 1,000 people responding to YOUR invitation to come learn about Jesus;
  • 100 of them deciding to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour;
  • 10 of them committing to be discipled by trained volunteers.

LEARN HOW GOD COULD USE FACEBOOK TO START A REVIVAL!

As part of IE Day 2013 we’re promoting this new strategic book:

Viral: How Social Networking Is Poised to Ignite Revival
Len Sweet, Waterbrook Press, 229 pages paperback, ISBN 978-0-307-45915-2

Len Sweet’s new book was published in March. It is a revealing explanation of the transformation of our culture from ‘print’ to ‘digital’, and how this changes everything in our communication and ministry. Sweet’s insights are so vital to effective digital ministry that Internet Evangelism Day has designated this book ‘Best New Title for Digital Outreach Month’.

BECOME A DIGITAL ADVOCATE

Many churches appoint a missions advocate/coordinator to resource the rest of the fellowship. Internet Evangelism Day urges churches to consider appointing a person for the role of a Digital Advocate – someone who can help churches and church members by advising and advocating use of the many digital resources that are now available.
